Overview of the gearbox for obstacle clearing vehicles

summary
With an automatic transmission, people can drive a car with one foot on the accelerator and one foot on the brake, making it very easy. If car owners neglect the maintenance of automatic transmissions in their daily lives, delicate automatic transmissions are prone to malfunctions.
Tip 1
When the cleaning vehicle stops for a long time, the gear lever is still in D gear.
When waiting for a signal or traffic jam, if the shift lever can be held in D gear within one minute, but if the time is relatively long, it is best to shift to N gear (neutral) and tighten the parking brake, otherwise it will cause the transmission oil temperature to rise and the oil is prone to deterioration.
Tip 2
When driving at high speed or downhill, shift the gear lever to N position to coast.
Some drivers, in order to save fuel, shift the gear lever to N gear while driving at high speeds or downhill, which may burn out the transmission. When it is necessary to coast on the current long slope, the gear lever can be kept in D gear to coast, but the engine should not be turned off.
Tip 3
Start the engine in a gear other than automatic transmission P or N.
Starting the engine in a gear other than P or N may burn out the neutral start switch of the transmission, although the engine cannot run. So the engine can only be started in P or N gear, and before starting the engine, it is necessary to confirm whether the gear lever is in P or N gear.
Tip 4
Do not use the parking brake when parking on a slope.
When parking on a slope, not using the parking brake can pose a safety hazard. Although the parking lock mechanism installed in the P position of a car with an automatic transmission is rarely ineffective, once it fails, it can cause accidents.
Tip 5
As long as you start in D gear and keep increasing the throttle, you can shift to high speed.
This approach is wrong. Because the gear shifting operation should be "early upshifting when the throttle is retracted, and early downshifting when the throttle is pressed". After starting in D gear, keep the throttle open by 5%, accelerate to 40km/h, quickly release the throttle to increase to one gear, and then accelerate to 75km/h. Release the throttle to increase to another gear. When reducing, press the driving speed and slightly press the accelerator to return to low gear. But it must be noted that the accelerator cannot be fully pressed. Otherwise, it will forcibly shift into low gear, which may cause damage to the transmission.
